Massage Therapy

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap ... but by the seeds you plant!"
(Robert Louis Stevenson)

Massage has been used for centuries as a form of touch and healing. Throughout history, many different forms of massage and bodywork have been introduced for the management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction as well as to promote relaxation and wellbeing.

The skin is the body's largest sensory organ and is the oldest and most sensitive of our senses. Through skilled touch the professional massage therapist gains a picture of the body as a whole by being able to distinguish correct posture and skeletal alignment, one muscle from another, relaxed tissue from tense tissue, poor circulation from good circulation and then be able to put into practice the relevant bodywork unique to that particular client.

Everyone can benefit from massage. It promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, relieves fatigue, promotes good sleep patterns and increases mental alertness. Physical effects of massage include increased circulation, lowering of heart rate and blood pressure, improved immune function, stimulates release of natural health promoting body chemicals and increased joint flexibility.  The therapeutic touch of massage alone can promote a feeling of completeness, integrated wellness and healing.

Therapeutic Relaxation Massage

Relaxation Massage is a wonderful slow, rhythmic, massage where the body is caressed and soothed with long definitive strokes from the top of the head to the tips of the toes.

The therapists hands are constantly moving, flowing over and never leaving the clients body promoting a gentle release of all tension and growth in integrated wellness, completeness and calmness.
